Captain Butch and Captain Chris, Gentlemen, we went out with you on June the 18th. It was a fantastic day for all of us!!! The weather was beautiful and the "Bite was on". We know that doesn't always happen so that was a bonus. However know that one of the best parts of the day was your company! "Good People," comes to mind.

You better warn Capt.Chris that the Ladies that were on board will probably be bringing their neices and daughters with them next time!! Tell him not to run but they're wanting to yell "Man On"!!

In all sencerity, absolutley one of the best days of my life. Would like to book again for sometime in Oct. but please let us know if Chris is going to be working during the fall break and when that is!! ...[Be scared Chris...just kidding!!!]

ps-If you still have some digital pix's could you please email to the above address.

Regards and thanks again---Don Cable

Captain Chris and Captain Butch,

We enjoyed the trip so much and I have to admit one of the most

Capt Butch,

Just to let you know, I motored the Hooked Up to the Tower on Sunday, where we found a hot Mahi bite. We had 15 strikes, boated 8,( 3 over 20 lbs), and lost a few at the stern. Even had 2 strikes that snapped 30 lbs test after a 200 yard run!! It was a good day!.

The boat you mentioned that capsized at the tower was about a 24-28" boat. We are unsure the details, but we saw those men suiting up as if they were diving. They had a dive flag atop their T-top, and were very closer to the base of the tower. Then I believe it was like 2 hours later, we saw the v- hull sticking up out of the water, and around the hull looked like a yard sale!! There was stuff everywhere. Another boat was already at the hull, and I believe that they assistedthe guys. I am unsure of the situation, and we could never raise anyone on the radio. Did you get any more information on that? If so, I would love to know. Anyways, I just thought I would give you our fishing report. Thanks

Jeremy

Capt. Butch and crew,

I would first like to say thank you very much for answering my questions, it seems a lot of captains are tight lipped and don't want to talk to you unless you have a 40' yacht to fish on. It is refreshing to find people who still know what it is all about(FUN), and don't mind sharing some knowledge. This is only my 3rd season offshore fishing so I am like a sponge trying to soak up all the info I can. But anyway, we are headed out this weekend, so hopefully we can put the tips you gave me to good use and load the coolers with some nice mahis and cobia. I'll let ya know.

Thanks again,

Daniel

Hi Butch, Chris & Bodie,

Sorry it took me so long to sign the guestbook, but it has been a little hectic since we got back.

As usual, I cannot express the enjoyment we had. It seems like each time we go out fishing with you guys it is more enjoyable than the last, and I always wonder how it can get any better, but, ya'll always seem to prove me wrong (and I am so glad you do). I cannot wait 'til we can come back again, hopefully this fall. Till we see you again, may god bless you.

Love,

Oh yeah, Dale said he's sorry the jerky was too hot, but he is glad that Bodie shared it with Chris.

First I would like to say that I like your site and find it informative. Me and my dad fish out of Little River, SC and I was wondering if you had some good tips on Cobia fishing in the area you could share. Also was wondering about chumming, what kind of setups do you use. Finally I was wondering if it is possible to catch Dolphin closer inshore, say Jungle area or Christina's Ledge, during the middle of the summer. Any information would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks, Daniel

I fish the Southport area. How far out would I have to go to catch some keeper black bass? I also read about fishing the Cape Fear River bouy for black bass, it has a hard bottom. Is this what I should be looking for? I limited to going about 8 miles out.

Capt.Butch,

Your fishing reports save us a lot of time and especially money. I own a boat with a single engine and I really do not have a lot of time or gas running around the ocean looking for bait balls. You always let is know where to start looking and I always try to go the day after you. Maybe one day we can get hooked up and go together to the Tower. We were out there last Sunday 4-2-06 and had a great time. I was so sore Monday from being tossed around in the boat that I could barely move. Please keep in touch and Fish On.

Captain Butch, I agree with the local gas man. You do take criticizm like a real man.I am aware of the smart a--ed reamrks that a local self proclaimed boat dealer has said to you. I even overheard the factory represenative admit to you that he(the boat dealer) had said some things that were very detremental to you.But then again, what else can one expect from someone that knows everything about everything and is never wrong. I can't believe you have not sued for slander and depredation of character, but, then again, you are a better man than him. Don't worry, his unethical ways and smart remarks he makes to every one will eventually do him in. Keep up the GREAT work, you are a captains captain and a mans man!!!!

Capt. Butch,

Finally got a chance to go to the tower on Sunday April 2nd. Water Temp was 67*, clarity was great, not a cloud in the sky, wind blowing 15-20kts all day, seas 3-5ft. We got a late start and did not get to the tower until 11:00am after a very rough ride out. We were not the only ones out there, there was approx. 6 - 8 other boats and all of us were comunicating back and forth. Lines in at 11:00am and right off we heard the reel scream and the line came down from the outrigger. After about a 10 minute fight the King was landed. Our first for the 2006 season. Lines back in the water 15 minutes later another hit with the reel screaming, after a short fight we landed a Tunnie. The bite quit so we decided to bottom fish on the north side of the tower. We caught several black bass, snappers, trigger fish and Amberjack. It started getting rough so I made the call and around 3:00 we pulled anchor and started heading back to the marina. After a 2 Hr boat ride we made it back safel

Hello Captain, just read your post on FullSpeedfishing. I just came back from fishing Ft. lauderdale, Stuart, and Boca Raton. First time for me on the East coast and amazed how warm the water was. 72 degree vs. our 52 degrees. Oh well it was a blast catching 8 lb King Fish, small Dolphins and assortment of rock fish not familiar with. Cauhjt a huge Anmber Jack about 80 lbs but was sawed off by a Bull Shark at the rail. Best part of the trip, you fish just a mile or so off shore. We kust bought a condo in Boca Raton so I'll be returning soon. Now just need to look for another C.C. for the area. In November going on a 13 dayer out of Sandiego aboard the Shogun with Henry MAze and Tyrus both members of Full Speed. Keep up with the fishing reports, i may come out and give it a try. I used to work in Greenville, NC.

Captain, I work with Rick & he turned me on to your site. We really appreciate all the information & advice you've given out! As Rick has probably told you, we are just learning how to fish offshore & we could spend alot of time & money chasing empty water, but with your help I know you've narrowed the gap of our coming home empty handed. We're going to give it a shot Sunday. Hope to see you there. Fish On! - Clay

I'm a very proud supporter of Yeah Right Charters. I don't know much about fishing but I can tell everyone two things: one, is look at the fishing reports and you'll see how we'll fishing goes with these two captains. Two is the owners and captains of Yeah Right Charters are some of the best people you could ever meet let alone go fishing with. Whoops, I can't forget about the Bodie man. It's one thing to be on a boat to just fish and it's a whole other to be on a boat with knowledgable, friendly, and confident, Captains.

FISH ON!

Even through my short time of coming to know both Captain Butch and Chris Foster is rather short, they have already proven their some of the best around. Rather it be finding the best fishing spot, learning the proper techniques, or just getting your own boat equipped, these guys have really helped a novice fisherman like myself. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute booking a trip because I know I will not only learn how to be a better fisherman, but will likely have plenty of food in the fridge as well. Thanks again to Captain Butch and Captain Chris for all that you have helped me with... it truley means a lot!

Butch,

This is in reference to article we read on fishing report dated 03/13/06.

It seems to us that the "captains" that are complaining are a little bit jealous or they do not like the idea that you are willing to let some one that is not a charter captain or commercial fisherman know where, how and when to catch the fish. Either way, that is a problem they need to deal with. As for Dale & myself, we enjoy very much reading about your trips, whether it being a charter or commercial trip. And furthermore I can't see us booking a trip with any one else but you, considering the outcome of our past trips. "But", don't get the idea that it is you, because really it is Bodie. Can;t wait to see ya'll again. Love Dale & Ella.

Hi Capt Butch & Chris. You may not remember me, but, I fished with you last year. And because of you my wife thinks I am a genius: I'll explain! I have a boat and hardly ever get to use it. When I get my vacation each year (two weeks) I spend one week getting the boat fixed from sitting, if I can find a mechanic to work it in for me(his busy time of year)being used in saltwater and not being used regularly is a death warrant on a boat, I know!!! OK, now I have it ready to go, but, I don't know where the fish are. I told my wife I could take two boat payments and fish with you twice while on vacation, that's only two days out of two weeks devoted to fishing, instead of a week and a half, plus, you fish all the time, so you know where the fish are, so we get fish for a fish fry and for the freezor. I have sold the boat, and will be fishing with you from now on!! And to tell you the truth, I think we both are a lot happier. If you really stop and think about it, it's a no-brainer!!!!!! Ti

To all who haven't tried Capt. Butch and Yeah Right charters you don't know what your missing. We had the time of Our lives on 2-27-06. It was like fishing with friends you'd know all your life. From the time we got on the boat (which from what I could see and feel was top of the line in gear, safety, and over all fish finding equipment) to the stepping off. We were treated like old family friends. Capt. Chris was fun and a effective producer and teacher. He kidded around and made my father in law and I feel at home.

What else can be said about fihing sole mates except if I ever get within trying distance again I'll use Capt. Butch, Capt. Chris, and of course Boddie the fish slayer before I think about anyone else.

Don't take my word for it. Spend the time and money you won't be sorry. If they don't get you fish there are no fish to be got. Oh!! try the dog shark it's delicious grilled with wine, butter, and lemon.

Trust me, we will see each other soon, very soon! Tell boady the fish dog we all said hello and apologize for him nearly being catapolted off the boat. Have a great weekend!

Hey Capt. Butch, Thanks for trying to keep us cabin fever refuges something to read in the slow winter months. Most fishing sites I have found in winter just shut down like fishing does not exist. I know that winter time is some of the best fishing you can have on some species, but I have got old and I can't take the cold anymore. To all you young bucks out there, don't stop fishing when it gets cold, before you know it, you won't be able to go anymore. I know it has happened to me, seems like now it was nearly overnight, where does the time go so fast. Will give you a call when the weather gets warmer, I want some of those yellowfin tunas like you guys catch. Keep those reports coming, sure makes the winter go by faster, Bob.

I guess I'm missing something. I've fished bluefin both commercially and for sport and have worked in this industry for over 25yrs. The one thing I have seen people in the charter fleet do is predict the bite the drum up buisness, and in the end when you don't catch'em all your doing is is shooting yourself in the foot because they don't come back. All the hype about the BLUEFIN!!! and commenting about the small fish they catch out of Morehead city, Bad move. never slam your competition. Because it will come back to haunt you. Are'nt we not suppose to judge? anyway good luck on catching the elusive bluefin

I just read some disturbing rantings posted in this guestbook by two obviously very uninformed individuals about a fellow Capt. and friend of mine for the last 30 or more years. People who know, know that anyone holding a commercial fishing license is required to catch and sell a specific amount of fish to retain their license that they have paid a tidy sum for. In the years I have fished and hunted with Capt. Butch, never have I known him to catch and keep any fish under the legal size nor more than the limit. The fish shown in the pictures were taken in a legal manner in order to retain his commercial license. I have fished and hunted off and on for over thirty years and I know Capt. Butch as an Excellent Charter Captain, Superb Sportsman and a very good friend. So Capt. Butch don't let the idle ravings of two individuals who from the looks of the times they posted their entries into your guestbook are in cahoots, bother your sleep tonight because those of us who know you, know bett

Gary, you are so right!! It is the idle gossip from the ones in the fishing scene that DOES NOT know what it's all about. Where do these people think the seafood they eat comes from, a seafood tree in the backyard. Just because they don't see King Mackeral on our menus, they think it is not eaten anywhere else. How stupid can you get!!! These King permits are expensive, and the Federal Regulations are that you sell 25% of your earned income or $10,000.00 worth of King Mackeral yearly or they WILL revoke your permit WITHOUT NO REFUNDS. I have seen other commercial catches and know if Captain Butch was not a true sportsman, you would have seen a lot more fish than what is on his website. Tom and Mike, why don't you two guys go get a life, and if you are going to discuss the fishing business, why don't you two learn something about the business before you open your mouth!! Oh yeah, I would also be careful about the judging of people, you are way out of your bounds now!!! People like you t

Tom and Mike, it is obvious that you two guys are very ignorant too the way commercial fishing operates. I guess you also do not speak to or think all seafood restaurant owners are sick also. King Mackeral is a commercial fish highly marketed in the north and all over the world. As for over the limit, these captains pay BIG BUCKS yearly to retain commercial Federal King Mackaeral Permits. I have talked to Captain Butch before on the subject, and he only catches enough Kings to get him through the slow months. To me that is a true sportsman. Before you start condemming someone, mabey you should do a little research, some times it is better to remain silent and be thought an idiot than to speak and remove all doubt. I personally think you owe the Captain an apology, but we all know now that is above your mental capacity!!!

My wife and I just moved down to Oak Island from Virginia. We had been visiting this area for the past 8 years or so. We really enjoy your up to date fishing reports. This time of year it is nearly impossible to get any info on the winter fishing from the Cape Fear area. If I'm going fishing I always check your website first, THEN the weather. Best Wishes for a Happy New Year!

Hi,

I noticed a good many sharks in your photos. Are these the same type that I cannot keep from catching in the surf at Oak Island? Are the sharks in your photos being kept to be cooked?

Thanks for your time and I enjoy your site!!

We wanted to thank both of you for providing us with such a fun day of fishing! We did not have high hopes when we arrived that morning and the weather report stated the waters might be a little rough. However, the day turned out to be perfect and we knew the fishing would be amazing once the first rod was in the water and a King hit the line! It was a great time and we enjoyed the company of Private Bodie. We thought it was hysterical how he attacked each fish that came aboard. We are looking forward to our next fishing adventure (hopefully this spring!) aboard the "yeah right"! Many thanks to Capt. Butch and Capt. Chris for providing an exciting and fun day of fishing!

As with the first time, our trip was a memorable one. I cannot express the fun & excitement we had. I really like it when we are the dock cleaning the fish and people stop and say: "WOW, you all caught some fish, that is the first boat I saw with fish on it. Congradulations." But, that is why we choose ya'll to take us out. Keep up the good work. Thanks to both of you for hooking me up to my first king mac. I can't wait 'til we go out again. Just being with ya'll is a blast and blessing.

I too fished on 10.16.05 w/ the VERY IMPRESSIVE "Fish Dog Bodie" and two other crew, who all took great care of us. Outside of the rough ride (8-10 ft seas) out and 20 oz of coffee and two donuts before (hindsight being 20:20 … not a good idea) ... the Amberjacks and Kings were well worth the trip. This charter company does it right! They put the customer first. They stay longer, bait harder, constantly run about the boat working the lines, and honestly want to provide the "true" Southern fishing experience. It is well worth the time and money ladies and gentlemen. Give Yeah Right and Private Bodie a shot... You'll not be disappointed!!! See you soon Bodie and gang.

Fished Sunday, 10/16, with Capts Butch and Chris. Very windy with 6 foot seas. After netting pogeys off of Bald Head the Capts reluctantly decided to head offshore - good choice. We had a number of hits by the Raritan wreck and landed 1 small king (9 lbs). We eventually moved toward the Horseshoe where we had a number of hits that resulted in 2 Amberjacks (37 & 38 lbs)coming aboard.Once slack tide hit the fish disappeared dispite all efforts to track them down. Even stretching our time didn't help but we came home with 3 fish for 3 very pleased fishermen. Great service by the Capts for making the right calls, putting us on fish, and coaching us getting them into the boat. Special thanks to Chris for working like a crazed mate and keeping us prepared and on target.

We went out with Capt. Butch and Capt Chris on September 24. These guys really know how to find the fish, and will work their guts out to find them for you. Capt. Butch found em for us, and Capt. Chris made doggone sure that there was not a thing we needed in gettin 'em in the boat. We were catchin em two at a time and they never missed a beat in boxing the fish and baitin our hooks!!! I think we even may have caught a new world record Sand Tile fish!!! We are in the process of verifying that this coming week. If any of you are looking for a charter with with someone who I think honestly cares about the customer and does ALL that they possibly can to get you some fish, call these guys. I am not dumb enough to guarantee you fish like we caught, but I can vouch for these guys and say that NOBODY I have ever fished with will work like these guys to make your trip as productive and enjoyable as these guys. The capt. told us things were slow, but we figured we had all day to try.Capt.butch told us to hold on, and took us inshore and let me tell you THAT BOAT CAN FLY.Nobody was catching anything, and we trolled around for awhile with everyone else, then capt. butch moved to another area and things started to happen!WE had a couple come up and scare our bait good, then it hap

Incredible guest service from the Fosters!! Very reasonably priced, and worth every penny. The Southport/Oak Island area has a pretty nasty reputation regarding the local charter companies and their "so called" trips to the gulf. Whomever is responsible for that reputation, it isn't YEAH RIGHT CHARTERS. These guys understand business and nobody else in that area will be getting mine.

Captain Butch and Captain Chris,

This was our second charter with you this year, and both trips have been great. You guys really know how to find the fish, and how to coach the kids (and adults) on hooking and landing them. A little trolling for Spanish, and then some bottom fishing to mix things up really gave us Northerners a taste for what NC fishing has to offer.

We really get a kick checking out your website for the fishing reports, and pictures to remind us of the great time we had on your charters.

Until next time, "FISH ON!"

We had a great time on June 17! Capt. Butch and Capt. Chris worked hard to get us the fish.. and we got them. This was the best charter trip we have ever been on, and we have done alot. Next time we are in NC we will look you up for some great fishing!

Thanks Again!!!!

I must consent with the other comments on this page, I have never been on a better charter in my life and I have been on quite a few! Captain Butch & Captain Chris are true professionals and are expert status at what they do. If you have not chartered their boat, you have definately "missed the boat". THANK YOU for a perfect trip, Brian. P.S. Will be back soon as I can!!!!!!!

Butch & Chris,

I cannot express the enjoyment I had fishing with you guys. I have never been on a better fishing trip (even with the high winds). It was such a blessing to be with the two of you. Chris knows exactly what a first mate is suppose to do, even though he is a captian also. I can't wait until the King's are biting good. I told Dale that I want to take our vacation in October this year, so we could go out with you guys again. It was great meeting ya'll. Thanks for a rememorable fishing trip (and the compliments).

Ella & Dale

I'VE BEEN FISHING DOWN IN THE SOUTHPORT AREA FOR 3 YEARS NOW, BUT I MUST SAY, THIS THIS PAST WEEKEND, 29 MAY 05, WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE THAT MYSELF AND MY CREW OF 4 HAVE HAD OUT ON THE WATER FISHING. CAPT BUTCH AND CAPT CHRIS DID A SUPER JOB IN OUR TRIP A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. I MUST SAY THAT, WE HAVE TRIED THE REST, THEY DIDN'T PASS THE TEST. THE YEAHRIGHT CHARTER HAS TOO BE THE BEST...LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR NEXT OUTING.....CAPT BUTCH AND CAPT CHRIS...MANY THANKS FROM THE BOYS OF MARYLAND AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA...
