We were a little concerned with the way the winds blew all week that Saturday's trip to the stream was in jeopardy. But as Friday  progressed the winds settled down to calm and we met at South Harbour Marina Saturday morning at 6AM and we went fishing.

Our "make up" trip included an observer. This was Mike Marsh, noted Author, Writer, and Wildlife Biologist. Mike went along on our "Observer License" to do a Magazine Article on the trip.

The rest of the crew was Stephen Nichols, who caught the Wahoo, from Winston Salem,NC, Stevens girlfriend, Susan Queen from Pilot Mountain,NC caught a nice Bonito, Tom Nicholson, from Wilmington,NC caught a nice Blackfin Tuna, and Alex Lee and Jesse Vang from Raleigh,NC were with us as well helping to catch hound fish and bonitos.

I got a temperature chart and it showed the warmer water to be to the North around the Same Ol'. That's a long run from Southport, but showed the most promise, so, off we went.

Actually, when I "jumped" the shoals, I was able to run from here to there in three hours, man I love those new Nibral Props I put on the boat last year.

For a boat this size and weight, she will "carry the mail" now. Before I replaced the props, it would have been a 4 1/2 hour run.

Lets talk about the fishing now, actually lets do better than that and talk about the catching. When I arrived at the Same Ol', the water was dirty and off colored.

This only proved to be a mental block, I don't think the fish were bothered to much. The Wahoo were there, along with Mahi Mahi, hound fish, bonito, skip jacks, and Black Fin Tuna.

Capt Chris put out a spread of of hoo's and a black and purple Yo-Zuri bonito lure on an 80W with a Planer Bridle that we make ourselves, and it wasnt long until Steven was hooked up with a nice Wahoo.

The rest of our fish came off blue/white and pink/white colors of  Blue Water Candy lures JAG 3 Lures

Capt John on the "Midhight Wind" was reporting being attacked by bonito and hound fish and having Mahi jump off the hook. Later on he reported catching some nice Mahi and also got a Wahoo on before a bonito or hound fish got the bait.

We hooked up a hound fish next. Then we got a Tuna, and after this all the rods went off as we pulled the ballyhoo's through a school of bonito.

Reports coming over the radio of the bottom fishing was good on the inside of the break and Capt Rick Crowson of Living Waters Guide Service was reporting having good luck on the jigging.

One Capt was having a banner day, don't know who he was, he was talking to his buddy, don't know who he was either, but he reported having four or five Wahoo's and a couple of Blackfin Tuna.

As the old saying goes, "some days you get the bear, and some days the bear get you". There's a lot to being at the right place at the right time in fishing. And, being good at what you do doesn't hurt either.

As for me, I like to think that I am good at what I do, but, I will also confess, I won't turn my back on a little good luck either!!

You know what I mean, like when you and your buddy are fishing  in the same boat together and he catches everything and all you can do is watch and net his fish. I thought this would clear up what I mean!!!!

A few other Capts were reporting basically the same results. Don't know who they were, they stayed within their circle.

I would have preferred not to have to run way up to the north, not only was I out of my territory up in this area, it's a long haul up there from here. We normally go to the Black Jack, 100/400 and Steeples areas.

Here we know the area and up at the Same Ol' we were sorta "fishing blind", not knowing the area. But, it's better to fish an area you don't know when the fish and water temps are better than go where the water's too cold for the fish.

I will have to admit, this trip restored my faith in people again. I have had some real problems with "make up" trips in the past, this one was a real pleasure to be on!!

Restored my faith to the point that I am going to try another one, and will continue doing them until I have problems again.

This is a great way for someone to be able to go on a fishing trip that just can't get a group together. Also, a great way to make new friends that like to fish like you do!!

This will be the last Saturday Gulfstream Trip I will be offering right now, as our next available Saturday open after this trip is July 16th.

The next trip will be in two weeks on April 9th. The price will remain at a discounted price of $200.00 per person.

No money required up front, a Visa or MC number will hold your spot!!!  Lets go fishin', you might catch a bunch, you might not, that's why it's called fishing and not catching, but you WILL have fun!!!

Now remember this, if it's too rough to fish and have fun, I don't go, and there will be no cost to anyone!! I make the final call on the weather, winds, and trip in the very early morning hours the day of the trip.

Call us @ (910)845-2004 and reserve your seat on the "Yeah Right II", first six callers get a seat, and you too can feel the bone jarring and exilerating experience when a clicker screams and someone yells, FISH ON!!!!!!

Till next time, God Bless everyone!!!!

OK, here's the deal. Todays trip offshore has been cancelled due to the NNE winds that are still blowing in the 20 to 30 MPH range offshore.

Could have stayed on the beach today and caught Spiney Dog Fish but that wasn't the plan, we wanted to go offshore.

Just like the song lyrics Kenny Rogers made famous several years ago when he said "you got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em", and with 8 foot seas at the Tower Buoy, we folded our plans for better conditions!!

Speaking of better condition, tomorrow now looks like our make up trip to the Gulfstream just might happen.  The wind prediction right now is west winds 10 knots or less switching to SW 10 knots or less in the afternoon, we'll have to wait and see if this pans out!!

It's 4 in the morning and i'm up anyway, heading to the Huddle House then to wash the pollen off the boat for tomorrows trip.

Check back tomorrow night or early Sunday morning, if we do get to go, I'll let you know what we do!!

  Till next time, God less!!!!!

WOW!!!! What a week!!!! I finished up my seminars, shows, and schools this past weekend and I must say that the Wildlife Expo and N C Sportsman Magazine school and expo in Wilmington was nothing but 1st class.

It was fantastic!!! Thanks to all that came by to see us there and attended our seminars!!!

Monday and Tuesday I spent chasing the Bass, Yellow Perch, Chain Pickerel, and Big Bream along with outdoor writer, Author, and Wildlife Biologist Mike Marsh. If you haven't seen his latest book, "FISHING NORTH CAROLINA" you are missing reading a book that is destined to be a "Best Seller". It's fantastic!!! Call him at (910) 791-2272 and order yours!!!

The responce to our "make up" trip for the Gulfstream has been such a sucess, I will most likely do another one real soon.

Let's see if we get to go this Saturday first, weather at this time is questionable!!

A friend sent me a report from last Thursday and Friday from the Gulf Stream, didn't sound like the troll was doing much, but the jigging was pretty good for Blackfin Tuna, and Sharks. Of course, the Black Bass were biting and they were huge, fun to catch, but have to be released until June 1st.

 Here's the report:
We did make it offshore Thursday and Friday. We had a nice ride out and a nice ride in BUT not in the same day. The weather forecast was right on and we had a bumpy ride out Thursday morning and a really bumpy ride in Friday evening. Friday afternoon reminded me of a wise old fisherman that told me you don’t buy a boat that will quickly take you out, more importantly one that will safely bring you back to the hill.

Thursday we concentrated on the Steeples area but there was very little sign of activity and the trolling bite was very slow. We lost one nice Wahoo about 50 yards from the boat and caught and released one shark. The water temp was about 68 degrees.

Friday we headed for the Blackjack area in hopes of warmer water but found none, went offshore as deep as 150 fathoms and never found any water above 67 degrees or any signs of life. We made our way back to the Steeples and back to the 68 degree water and found the crew of the OIFC there vertical jigging for Blackfin.

The wind had pick up and it was getting very rough. I recalled what you told me at the dock about it being a different world when you get beyond the Tower. We left and had a bumpy trip back to the Tower where we tried for some AJ'S. No luck with the Amberjack but the Endangered Black Sea Bass were as thick as carpet. We were hooking up with big Sea Bass, it was difficult but all were released! We also hooked up with a couple of HUGE sharks but lost them.
Ok, hoping to have an offshore report here Friday night. Weather permitting, I will be taking a group from Wal-Mart fishing. We will have to see if the winds let us go!!!
We have the trips booked now, just got to get the winds to calm so we can get the 2011 Charter year kicked into high gear. Check back often for reports, it's time to go fishin'!!!!

Till next time, God Bless Everyone!!!

Didn't go fishing today, was a little bit too windy. Will be setting up tomorrow in Wilmington,NC for the expo this weekend.

I plan a few more fresh water trips with reports before we get "cranked up" in April with charters. So, check back for those reports.

Talked with some guys today (sorry about the names, I have a severe case of  "CRS" at my age) that were heading to the Gulfstream for the next couple of days.

They said they would send me a report on what's happening out there if they got to go!!

Looks like our Gulfstream trip next Saturday March 26th is going to be a go (weather permitting). I posted last night to call (910) 845-2004 if you wanted to go with us and the price was $200.00 PP.

You called and we have enough to go if weather permits and we have one spot left open, next caller gets on board!!!

Call anyway, you never know what might happen in a week, if someone has to cancel and your next on the list, you will get a call from us and will have the opportunity to fill the spot.

Next Saturday morning, Blue Water, Salt Air, the methodical humm of twin diesels, New Bean Bags to ride on,  the smell of bacon and eggs coming from the galley for breakfast, visions of huge Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna as some nap while riding out, and I can't wait until I hear my Son Chris yell, DAD, FISH ON!!!!!!!!

Thank You Lord for guiding me to the Charter business, I just wish I had listened to you years earlier when you were telling me to quit worrying making money and follow my dream.

Lord, I know now what you meant, if you love what you do, it will show, you will put your heart and soul into it, and the rest will come naturally!!!

Today was a very special day for me. I got to share a day on the lake with a great friend of mine, Mike Marsh. If you don't know who Mike Marsh is, then you must be new to NC.

Mike is a very well known Outdoor writer & Photographer, Fish and Wildlife Biologist and Author. Mike's newest book "FISHING NORTH CAROLINA" is awesome.

If you fish in NC, you would do good to have this book. You can order one direct from Mike at (910) 791-2272 or (910) 524-9155 or email Mike at mike62774@aol.com.

The book is 20 Bucks, you can't eat out for that anymore!!! Please let him know you saw it on our website, Thanks!!!

It covers 100 areas from the Mountains to the Coast and gives a full detailed description of where, when, what, and how to get there and what to use and the types of fish available and how to catch them. I've seen a lot of books on NC fishing, but this one is the best I have ever seen!!!!!!!

Yep, we went back after some more Yellow Perch, and Yep, we caught some more Yellow Perch along with some nice "chain Pickerel".

Lots of people look at chain pickerel as being too boney to eat, and yes they are boney. I did a short video on how to remove the "Y" bones from these fish, therefore making them great table fare.

Next time you catch one, try this, I think you will be pleasantly suprised and pleased!!!

The next few days should be really hot with theYellow Perch bite. The spawn is starting to take place and the up coming full moon should be fantastic fishing!!!

I will be at the NC Sportsman Magazine & Wildlife Expo. this weekend doing seminars and talking fishing in Wilmington,NC the 18,19,20. I understand they have "sold out" for this event!!

But, we are going to try and get the fishing season started next weekend, the 26th, with a "Bang". Saturday, the 26th of March, weather permitting, we are going to offer a ride on the "Yeah Right II" at $200.00 per person and we will be heading to the Gulfstream after Wahoo, Tuna, Mahi, and  do some deep jigging as well.

We are wanting to start our seasonal reports off with with some Blue Water species, and if you are having trouble putting a group together to go fishing, well, here's your chance to go with us.

I've already got (3) people wanting to go, so we only have (3) three more spots left open. If you want to go I'd call ASAP (910)845-2004 and get your name in the hat.

We'll put your name down even if we are already filled up. You never know, someone may have to cancel, and we will contact the next person according  to when they called!!

Hopefully the weather man will be good to us and we can leave out and be in the Stream right at first light. It's been a long winter and I am ready to hear an outrigger clip release and hear someone yell, FISH ON!!!!!!!

Hope you're able to go with us!!!!!!

Till next time, God Bless You All!!!!

As most Captains are this time of year if you have any experience under your belt, you tend to be a little paranoid with the weather, especially when planning a long trip offshore!!!

This is what happened Saturday with my plans to make the 1st run of the year to the Gulfstream!!! And as it usually happens, it was beautiful Saturday from all reports I could find.

But the moral here is safety 1st. and foremost. After not going Saturday I decided not to go Sunday which didn't look as good as Saturday was anyway.

Do you hate it when your baits get soggy and come apart from getting into the water that comes from ice melting in your bait cooler?

Well, if so, go to our "Sponsor Page" and check out our newest sponsor, "MAX BAIT TRAYS"!!

I liked the way they worked so well that I have been asked to be on their "Pro Staff". Thanks for a great product, I know my catch ratio will have to improve with the quality of baits your system provides!!

Getting back to fishing, I couldn't stand it any longer. People who know me know that I love all kinds of fishing!! So, I hooked the trailer behind the F-250 Super Duty that has the 16' deep vee on it and the wife and I made our first fresh water trip for the season.

Thinking we might be a little premature with the cold winter we just had, I still had to give it a shot.

We started off like "gang busters" 1st Barbara hooked up then right behind her I hooked up. But, that was it for a long, long while.

Now, we were yellow perch fishing. I used to make trips to Fontana Lake Walleye Fishing at "Prince Boat Dock" which David Prince owns and operates now. David and I used to fish and hunt together a lot, and I really miss those days. But, things are always changing in our lives whether we like them or not!!

Check David and his wife Debbie out at www.princeboatdock.com and tell them I said "HI" if you call them or go see them!!

Why did I add the part about David and Fontana Lake, you ask? Well, David is a good friend that I miss dearly, and he has some of the best eating fish right at his doorstep, the walleye!!

We don't have any walleye down here. But, I will rate the Yellow Perch right up there with any fish I know when it comes to making table grade, it taste almost identical to the walleye, they are just smaller!!!

The water was still a little cool, 54.5 degrees and slick calm. Too calm really, so I was starting to think my first premonition about being a little early might be right.

I kept working towards the West/North west side of  the lake where I figured the longer sun exposure would have it a little warmer. I was right, here it was 56.9 degrees and the wind was starting to put a little chop on the water.

I told Barbara this should be the place with the wind breaking up the surface and the warmer water temperatures.

Don't know if I am good or just lucky, but whatever it was, shortly after making the comment of being the right place, it was on with two at a time quite often!!

When I say two at a time, I mean we both would have one on at the same time, the picture of two on one lure doesn't happen real often. But when fish are feeding heavily and aggressively, it will happen sometimes!!

Just like any other fishing, just keep moving, looking, and playing out the scenerios until you find the right conditions with feeding fish. Never give up!!!!

In short order we had all we wanted for a couple of  Yellow Perch Dinners. And I might add, I just got up from the table where I was reminded just how good these guys really are when fried up with House Autry Seafood Breader in hot Canola oil, it don't get no better!!!

We are lucky to live in an area that offers so many different types and styles of fishing!!

Yes, fishin', be it saltwater, freshwater, big fish or little fish, it's all fun and it sure beats the bejeebers out of sitting on the couch doing nothin'!!!

If you went fishin' this weekend then you were lucky as well. Be sure to Thank God, members of our Armed Forces, Veterans, and members of our Police Force and Fraternity!!!! Without all the above, you would be too scared to come out of hiding!!!!!

When I go fishin' again, I'll post it right here for ya', and Thank You for taking the time to read these reports, It means the world to us here at "Yeah Right Charters".

I try to keep them short, but I just can't help myself, so, Thanks again for taking the time from your day to read my jabbering!!! I surely hope you like it!!

Till next time, God Bless You All!!!!

Got a call from William and Victoria Corne from Fayetteville, NC yesterday and they wanted to go fishing.

It was their 3rd anniversary and his wife wanted to go fishing for her a anniversary.

I informed them that the NE winds would only let us stay on the beach and this would mean that the only thing I knew that was biting right now on the beach was the Spiney Dog Sharks.

That was just perfect they said. Sharks was one of their favorite fish for the table.

I made a call to the fishery officials and after several discussions through out the department they finally decided that there was not a size or creel limit on Spiney Dog Sharks and they told me we could keep all we wanted.

I got a name, just in case, and we went out on the beach and I will have to say that I got this one right. Spiney Dog Sharks were everywhere!!!!!!!!!

They had a ball, got plenty of fish for the freezor, and all was well. I wish everyday could be this simple!!!

The water on the beach wasn't as dirty as I figured it would be, actually it looked fairly decent for all the winds we have had lately.

The water is warming right along, Three miles off the beach it was 57.8 degrees, up seven degrees from just a few weeks ago. I recorded the mouth of the river at 58.7. Things are progressing right along.

We did catch a few Black Bass, and some were good ones, but until June 1st you have to release all these, and such we did!!

I figured the Blues might be here, and I still think they are, but we didn't catch any of these.

A wife that wants to fish for here anniversary and is happy just to catch fish, any fish, William you have definately got a "keeper" here!!!

I also found out that Victoria is a very good cook, and they were telling me about a recipe she had called "Shark Ravoli" and it sounded delicious.

William is going to send it to me and when he does I will share it here on our "Recipe Page"!!!

Happy Anniversary guys and Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to share your special day with you, it was fun as always!!!

Right now Saturday is looking good, might be a good day to end "Cabin Fever"!!!

Till next time, God Bless All!!!!

OK, I know I haven't been here in a while, but, truth is, nothing has been happening locally  but cold weather and winds!!!

But it's the last of February, yeah, I can't believe it's gone by this fast myself, but it has.

March is more of a transition month, and with the colder than normal winter, I am going to give a run down of what I think is just around the corner in April.

And just like March is here now, April will be here before you have all your tackle serviced and ready to go. time has a way of getting by fast.

Sooooooo!!!!, here goes my prediction!!! Wheather you agree or not is fine, that's your right as well!!!

As you know, April still has several species that are in a closure period. Lets see, Grouper is closed until May 1st. Black Bass, until June 1st., last I heard Speckled Trout until June 15th. And most likely I forgot a few and may even be off balance with a date or two!! So, heed the next paragraph, especially the part about the DMF.....

With all the closures in place, lets cover some of the fish you might be able to encounter in April for a fish dinner. One of the more popular species opens back up on April 1st, that being the Vermillion Snapper,A.K.A. B-Liner. Check the latest regulations at www.ncdmf.net to be sure you know the latest posession limits and legal sizes before you go.

Jumping back near shore now, if the water warms up fast enough after the brutal cold we have had this winter, then we can expect to see some Atlantic Bonito moving through the later part of this month.

Also, with warming waters, April usually brings a few Spanish Mackerel closer to the beach in search of Glass Minnows and other forage.

Keep an eye on the water around your boat, April can warm up enough to possibly bring a Cobia up to check you out. Keep a stout rod handy with a buck tail tipped with a whole squid. This will usually get him on if you don't have live baits.

Blue fish will be here, as they normally appear even earlier in February and March.

Near the Cape Fear river mouth and around the corner from Fort caswell you should be able now to get a cooler full of some of the tastiest fish in the ocean. Of course, I am talking about whiting, better known as Virginia Mullet to us older fishermen!!

The freshest shrimp you can find here will get the job done. But, I have also done very well in the past on fresh cut bait.

Moving on offshore, historically, late April can host a real good bite from King Mackerel. The bait fish are making their way to the beach and the big schools of bait can generally be found around Easter in the vicinity of Frying Pan Tower.

The king Mackerel know this and they school up as well and plan their attack on the vulnerable bait fish. No need to bother with live bait here. Just grab a few boxes of frozen Cigar Minnows and get in on some of the hottest action you may see all year!!!

Even though the False Albacore is not considered table fare, they are a hard fighting fish and lots of fun on King Mackerel tackle and most likely you will encounter some of these feisty fighters as well!! Really want to have a blast, bring out the fly rod and reel, but be prepared to be humbled!!!!

Now, if you want to really get into a fight with a fish. Stop on some of the offshore wrecks and rocks and drop a jigging spoon down and see if you can get an Amber Jack interested. If you do, it will be a fight you won't soon forget. You will also know then how and why they got the nick name "Reef Donkey", something to the effect that they "pull like a mule"!!!

Moving on out to one of my favorite places. The Gulf Stream in April can be a ball of fire with explosive strikes from Wahoo and Tuna's!!!! Every year seems to be different, and we will have to see how things are this April.

The Stream should be doing well though with Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, and hopefully some Yellowfin Tuna!! Don't be too suprised here if your bait gets attacked by a big Blue Marlin or other bill fish. It can and does happen in these waters!!!

Come to Greensboro this weekend and take in the Boat Show at the coliseum. Check out what's happening at www.ncboatshows.com

I will be there doing seminars on Grouper/Bottomfishing every day, hope to see you there!!!

Just think, it won't be much lonnger until you can get your daily fishing report right here.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read our reports. It means everything to us, because, without all of you, there would be no "Yeah Right Charters" and we know that!!!!

Till next time, God Bless You All!!!!

 Here's my seminar schedule;

Friday 2PM and  5 PM

Saturday 11AM and 5PM

Sunday 11AM

Let me tell you a guaranteed way to get rich quick, "Count Your Blessings"!!!

1-30-11

I know, I haven't been on here in a while. Got a lot going on this time of year.

I hear there are plenty of Dog sharks to catch right now near shore.

Also got a report of a decent bottom bite offshore. That's real encouraging news!!!!

Speaking of bottom fish, just got my "Southeast Fishery Bulletin" from NMFS and it states that the Recreational Black Bass season will close at 12:01 a.m. February 12, 2011 until 12:01 a.m. June 1, 2011. The closed area is from Cape Hatteras Light,NC to Key West, FL.

I would like to comment on this, but, from what I have seen from the meetings I have been to, what's the use!!! I feel like they could care less what we have to say!!! But, that's my opinion and it don't amount to anything anymore!!!

Red Drum continue to bite on the inside. A friend reported catching 20 Red Drum on Tuesday last week, and all were in the legal slot limit!! Yeah, I would say the red's are biting!!!

As far as I know, The Speckled Trout fishery is still closed...

Have done a lot of "sprucing up" the "Yeah Right II". New cables through out. Capt. Chris came down yesterday and helped me pull the Transmission on the port side and we put in a new damper plate on the fly wheel to get rid of the old one that had a loud rattle in it.

Can't even hear or feel it now when it goes into gear !!! Thanks Capt Chris for your help and I really enjoyed our day together. It was like "old times" again for a day!!!

I have added several new monotoring systems to make sure your fishing trip on the "Yeah Right II" is as safe as it can be made humanly possible!!!

Got all new Bean Bags for everyone this year!!! Thanks to everyone for putting up with the "flat" ones last year, but, I said I would find some new ones, and I did!!! This is the only way to ride on a boat, Just ask Joe!!!!

It's the last of January now and we are getting geared up for the rest of the up coming school's and shows.

If you didn't make it to Raleigh or Doswell, VA. You have already missed two good shows already!!!

February 12th will be the "Fisherman's Post School", February 19th. will be the "Fishfest School", February 25th, 26th, & 27th will be the "Central Carolina Boat & Fishing Expo" in Greensboro,NC then in March on the 18th, 19th, & 20th. will be the "Wildlife Expo & NC Sportsman magazine show.

I will be at all of these doing seminars and will have a booth. Come by and say "HI"!!!

After the last show, it will be getting time for our Gulf Stream season. Hopefully the winds will be more forgiving this spring than last year and we won't have to cancel nearly all the stream trips again.

If it is calmer, we should have a lot of Gulf Stream reports for you as we have already got just about all Saturdays booked for Stream trips in April & May.

If you want to go to the Gulf Stream in our prime season and need a Saturday, you better call real soon!!! I only have two Saturdays still open in April (16 & 30) and only one left open in May (21) and only one left open in June (11) at this report, the saturdays are going fast this year!!!

I have got to get away for a couple of days and go fishin'. I need to get up to High Rock Lake and do some Crappie Fishing!!!

Capt Chris and I put about a dozen brush piles in up there and I haven't got to fish them yet. Thinking about it, I may not ever fish them, that was 7 or 8 years ago. Where does the time go?

Ok, send me a report if you want to, we would appreciate it, and when I get more info on things I'll pass it along.

Till next time, God Bless everyone!!!!

The cold weather has really had an effect on the Speckled Trout lately. Thus causing the Marine Fisheries to make a call to help protect the fish that are in a vulernable state right now.

Here is today's news release  regarding the Speckled Trout.

                      Fish On!!!

Thought for the day; Even a fish would stay out of trouble if he kept his mouth closed.....

It's January and believe it or not, the fish are biting pretty good.

The Red Drum are biting grubs and mud minnows in the real shallow water. A few Speckled Trout are being caught as well.

The king Mackerel bite offshore is good one day and not so good the next. Look for water around 65* or higher with bait and chances are you will find the King Mackerel.

Bottom fishing is good now out in the deeper water!! You need to get on out to around 100' to catch the bottom fish.

Much shallower and you will be eaten alive by the sharks!!! But, if your thing is catching sharks, now is your time of year, all you could ever want right now!!!!!!

Get a good weather window and go get 'em!!!!!

If you can't go fishin' come by and see us this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Raleigh Bass & Saltwater  Expo at the N C State Fair Grounds.

I will be doing seminars on Grouper/Bottomfishing everyday!!!!

Got some great new videos we made this past year for your enjoyment. Playing daily all day long!!!

If you come, be safe in your travels and God Bless!!!!

Got a couple fishin' reports for the new year already. Looks to be gettin' off to a good start!!!

If you talk with Capt. Chris, tell him Happy Birthday. Jan. 2 is his birth day.

Tim who fishes the Fountain "REEL PALS" sent me an e-mail about his trip Friday. He reported King Mackerel were thick SW of the Tower.

Picked up a nice Mahi-Mahi as well!!! plenty of False Albacore to be had.

Went to the bottom and got Silver Snappers, Black Bass, Grey Snappers, and a nice Gag Grouper.

Remember, Grouper is closed as of Jan 1st until April 1st...

Didn't get any pictures from Tim or I would have posted them!!

My other fishin' report comes from Capt. Kevin Couick. Some of you know Kevin, he's one really nice guy and a great Captain as well.

Capt. Kevin started his fishing business here in Southport under the name "FISH HUNTER", then moved on to guide on Santee Cooper's lakes.

Well, apparently Capt. Kevin has got the catfish down in the low country figured out pretty good.

Take a look at this catfish that was caught when he went fishing with Bobby, Dylan, and Ethan Steelman.

  Check out Capt Kevin's
 web site at  www.santeefishhunter.com

That's one big catfish!!!! Give Capt Kevin a call and go catch one of those cat's.

I know that this coming year I am going to have to book a trip with Capt Kevin and get myself one of those monsters!!!!

Thanks guys for the reports and pictures!!!

Till next time, God Bless Everyone!!!
